Photo essay compiled in 2018 as an entry for a photo competition of which nothing came.

If I weren’t living in Myanmar where SDGs seem to underscore every effort now, I might never have been privy to them.
Sustainability Development Goals were adopted in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and  prosperity by 2030. It is worth mentioning that SDGs are contextual and differ from place to place. Context, I find is a crucial consideration when it comes to this unique country.

I am giving visual commentary on the premise of the sustainability goals, neither aiming to mention how far or how close things look to meeting targets.

What I can say is that there has been change since I got here in 2015. Now whether the change has been brought about by a global humanitarian focus or whether it was simply inevitability is not in my capacity to say.
